A baker says, ‘Doubling 3/4 cup gives 6/8 cup.’ Is that correct? Explain the mistake and write the correct amount.

Grown-up notes & answer guide

Double batch: 1 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1/2 cups. Flour: 6/4 = 1 1/2. Eighteen muffins: 3 batches, 1 1/2 cups milk. Half batch: 3/8, 1/4, 1/8 cups. Scoops: 3 and 6. 3/4 is larger: 9/12 > 8/12. 6/8 equals the original 3/4, not double it.
